Legacy of Dead Slot Review: Eight Spins, Nine Symbols
In short — our verdict: 7.0/10 — Legacy of Dead is a Play'n GO slot we score 7.0 out of 10: its free spins can stack up to nine expanding symbols, while its 96.58% return is printed in the rules for Great Britain, Sweden, Denmark and Germany but missing from the version the free demo loads.
We tested Legacy of Dead where anyone can, in Play'n GO's free demo: 205 paid spins at 1.00, two feature rounds, and the rules the game server sends for several markets.

Legacy of Dead Strengths and Weaknesses
Pros: What Works Well
- Pro: Eight free spins come with a randomly drawn expanding symbol that pays on every active line with gaps allowed, and each retrigger adds another, up to nine.
- Pro: The demo's paytable states its ceiling plainly as 250,000 coins, and the arithmetic holds: 5,000 coins per coin on ten lines of five coins each.
- Pro: The demo's bet grid runs 0.01 to 100.00 on three steppers: 1 to 10 lines, 1 to 5 coins and sixteen coin values. Not every total can be built, and 0.11 is one that cannot.
- Pro: Play'n GO Malta Limited can be looked up by anyone, as Gambling Commission account 55949 and in Sweden with a permit valid to .
- Pro: The rules spell out the Gamble odds: 50% on colour, 25% on suit, five rounds at most, and a 2,500-coin cap in the demo.
Cons: What Holds It Back
- Con: The 96.58% return appears in the British, Swedish, Danish and German rules; the build inside the free demo prints no return figure at all.
- Con: Volatility and hit frequency are published nowhere by the studio, so the "high" label in catalogues is somebody else's judgement.
- Con: Catalogues list four lower return settings, down to 84.55%, and the demo's session label of 96 says nothing about which setting any real-money build uses.
- Con: Base-game wins run thin: our best of 205 spins paid 12.00 on a 1.00 bet, while 48% of everything returned came from two feature rounds.
- Con: The demo build keeps Hyper Spin, Fast Play and Auto Play of up to 100 spins, with every stop limit at 0.00 when the menu opens.

How Legacy of Dead Pays Its Lines
Legacy of Dead pays left to right on up to ten lines across five reels and three rows, with the lines switched on in order, line one first. A line win is the paytable figure times the coins riding that line, and only the highest win on each line is paid.

One symbol does two jobs. The tomb is the wild, standing in for every other symbol, and it is also the scatter. On a line it pays 5,000 coins per coin for five; scattered anywhere, three tombs pay 2 times the total bet and five pay 200 times.
The crowned figure with a crook matches the tomb at 5,000 coins for five. Anubis comes next at 1,600, then the golden mask and the winged scarab at 600 each. The letters sit far lower: A and K top out at 120 coins, Q, J and 10 at 80. Only the picture symbols pay for two of a kind, and that detail decides a lot once the free spins begin.
Eight Free Spins, Not Ten
Three or more tombs anywhere award eight free spins, the number printed in the rules, carried in the client's own text strings and shown on the award screen both times we triggered it. Four of the six catalogues we read print ten. Ten is the Book of Dead figure, from the older Play'n GO game this one keeps being filed next to.
Before the first free spin, the game draws one regular symbol at random and makes it a special expanding symbol. When enough of it lands, it fills its reels and pays on every active line, gaps between reels allowed. Three more tombs inside the round add eight spins and a second expander. The start screen promises up to nine.
Our two rounds both ran their eight spins and stopped. Both drew Anubis, a coincidence across two cases.
Where the 96.58% Is Printed
Legacy of Dead returns 96.58% to the player on the studio's own figure, with volatility left unpublished. We downloaded several versions of the rules. The ones the server sends for Great Britain, Sweden, Denmark and Germany print it flatly, "The average RTP is 96.58%". The German build also prints it on a strip above the reels for the whole session.

Ask the same server for the rules with the market left blank, which is the version the free demo loads, and the line is gone. The studio's public game page is silent on it too. So anyone learning the game in the demo opens a rules screen that skips the percentage entirely.
Legacy of Dead Rules by Market
| Rules served for | Return figure printed | Hyper Spin and Fast Play described |
|---|---|---|
| Sweden | 96.58% | Removed |
| Denmark | 96.58% | Removed |
| Great Britain | 96.58% | Removed |
| Germany | 96.58% | Removed |
| No market set | None | Present |
Catalogues add four lower settings: 94.51%, 91.51%, 87.56% and 84.55%. No studio surface we read confirms or denies them. The demo server tags each session with a setting labelled 96, which is a label rather than a percentage. On the one printed figure the house keeps 3.42% of every stake; on the lowest catalogue setting it would keep 15.45%, more than four times as much.
A Slot Ceiling Written in Coins
The ceiling is 250,000 coins, and the paytable puts it in exactly those terms: "WIN UP TO 250000 COINS!". The familiar 5,000x is catalogue arithmetic rather than a studio figure: a full bet of ten lines at five coins is 50 coins, and 250,000 divided by 50 is 5,000.

One route to it, by our own arithmetic, is the crowned figure picked as the expanding symbol and spread across all five reels during the free spins. The rules with no market set never say whether a win is capped at that figure or how it is meant to be reached. That route pays 5,000 coins per coin on each of ten lines, and at five coins a line the total is 250,000 to the coin.
| Coin value | Full bet | Ceiling in money |
|---|---|---|
| 0.01 | 0.50 | 2,500.00 |
| 0.02, the demo default | 1.00 | 5,000.00 |
| 2.00, the top value | 100.00 | 500,000.00 |
Our best round, 53.00 at a 1.00 bet, reached about 1% of that.
The German build words its ceiling differently. Its rules cap any round at "25000 times total bet", and the strip above its reels prints "Max win Probability: 1:371747". Its paytable still says "WIN UP TO 250000!", now with no unit at all. We keep the two figures apart, because the screen and the rules are describing different things; the max-win page sets them side by side.
The Full-Speed Demo Build
The free demo hands every visitor the full-speed build: every speed control we found in this game, and no RTP figure in its rules. Hyper Spin starts when the space bar is held for 1.5 seconds, Fast Play is a toggle, a Stop button cuts the reels short, and Auto Play runs 10, 20, 50, 75 or 100 spins. The rules served for Great Britain, Sweden, Denmark and Germany drop Hyper Spin and Fast Play. The British and German configurations switch Auto Play off too, and the German one holds every round to at least 5 seconds.

When we opened Auto Play, the stops for a single win, a balance rise and a balance fall all sat at 0.00, so a 100-spin run could start with its loss limit switched off.
This describes the build and alleges no breach. It is simply the version the studio serves when nobody has told the server which market the player is in.
Gamble, up to Five Times in a Row
Gamble can risk a base-game win again for as many as five rounds in a row. The demo's rules cap it at 2,500 coins. After each win the client offers Gamble or Collect. A correct guess at a face-down card's colour doubles the win at a 50% chance; the suit quadruples it at 25%. The rules say the feature leaves the overall RTP unchanged, and Auto Play switches it off.

Our view is that Collect is the sensible default, and plenty of players would argue the opposite. An even-money double adds variance while the expected value stays put. Five straight doubles would turn a 25-coin line win into 800 coins, or wipe it out.
Play'n GO in Three Registers
Play'n GO Malta Limited holds Gambling Commission account 55949 in Great Britain, active, with zero regulatory actions recorded when we read the register on . We tested that search before trusting it: the same files return Evolution under account 41655 and two Pragmatic Play companies.
Sweden's Spelinspektionen lists a game-software permit running to , and Denmark's Spillemyndigheden puts the company on its list of 65 licensed suppliers. The Maltese licence, MGA/B2B/225/2012, comes from the studio's own footer, because the Malta Gaming Authority's register failed to load for us. The Gibraltar company holds RGL No. 131. We did not search any testing laboratory's records for this title.
Learn It in the Demo First
The free demo is the cheapest place to learn this slot, since it costs nothing and asks for no account. Play'n GO runs it on its own game page behind a single 18+ confirmation, on a play balance of 25,000.00.
Remember what that build is, though. It is the version with no market set, so it shows no RTP line and keeps every speed control switched on. A real-money site can serve another version of the same game. Its rules screen tells you which. The rules served for Great Britain, Sweden, Denmark and Germany say "The average RTP is 96.58%", and the demo's rules say nothing of the kind.

What Else Do Readers Ask?
Readers ask about the details catalogues disagree on or skip. Each answer comes from the rules text, the three paytable screens or our session in Play'n GO's demo.
Is there a bonus buy in Legacy of Dead?
No, the game sells no feature. The free spins start only when three or more tombs land, either in the base game or during the round itself.
Does Legacy of Dead have a jackpot?
No, there is no progressive or fixed jackpot. In the demo build the top prize is the paytable's 250,000 coins. The build served for Germany caps a round at 25,000 times the total bet instead. The studio does not say how it is reached; by our arithmetic, a full screen of the crowned figure is one way.
What happens to an interrupted round?
An interrupted round is stored until the game reopens. Undecided bets become void after 90 days, and any saved progress is cleared after 180 days.
When was Legacy of Dead released?
Play'n GO's game page gives . Catalogues print January 2019, plain 2019 or , and none of them cites the studio.
How do we test a slot like this?
We open the studio's demo, read every paytable and rules screen, log a session spin by spin, then look up the supplier in British, Swedish and Danish registers.
Can the bet change during the free spins?
No, the rules lock it. Free spins play at the stake and line count of the triggering spin, so a 1.00 trigger means eight spins at 1.00.
