Who Is Play'n GO, the Studio Behind Legacy of Dead?

In short: Play'n GO is the studio that made Legacy of Dead, and the company holding its British licence, Play'n GO Malta Limited, sits in the Gambling Commission's register under account 55949 with no regulatory action recorded.

Two companies carry the Play'n GO name on the licences that matter for this slot, one in Valletta and one in Gibraltar. You can check most of what follows yourself: we read the registers on , and we say plainly where we couldn't.

Two Play'n GO Companies, Two Cities

The licences behind Legacy of Dead sit with two companies: Play'n GO Malta Limited at 35 Triq id-Dejqa in Valletta, and Play'n GO (Gibraltar) Limited at Suite 23, Portland House, Glacis Road. The studio's footer names both and gives a number for each regulator. Most of the weight rests on the Maltese company. The British, Swedish and Danish entries all point to it, and so does the Maltese licence the studio states.

The Gibraltar company holds Casino (B2B) licence RGL No. 131. A Gibraltar government list of approved brands, dated from , shows that number against that company. The footer says it was issued on . When we tried the live Gibraltar register, it sat behind a captcha.

What Four Registers Confirm

Four regulators' records back the studio's claims as of . Only the British one records enforcement, and it shows none. Each one printed the following:

Gibraltar approved brandsPlay'n GO (Gibraltar) LimitedRGL No. 131document from 2022

Read on ; a source can change after that date without notice.

The British entry carries the most detail. Account 55949 holds remote licence 055949-R-332212-005 for Gambling Software and Game Host (Casino) from , with Gaming Machine Technical Software added on . A separate non-remote licence, 055949-N-335444-004, runs from . We tested the search before trusting it. The same files return Evolution under account 41655 and two Pragmatic Play companies under 56015 and 57239.

Sweden's export spells the name with an acute accent, Play´n GO Malta, and drops "Limited". It's a small thing, but it trips a strict text search.

The Malta Number We Couldn't Verify

MGA/B2B/225/2012 is the studio's own claim, and on we could not confirm it in the Malta Gaming Authority's register. The footer dates the licence to . The register's search wouldn't return a result for us, so the number stays the studio's word until someone reads the entry. We'd rather say that than borrow a confirmation we don't have. We do not recommend treating the MGA number in the studio's footer as register-checked, because no register entry confirmed it for us.

Legacy of Dead on the Studio's Pages

Play'n GO's own pages give Legacy of Dead a release date of and a 250,000-coin ceiling. They print no return figure. The rules inside the game add one in the versions we pulled for Great Britain, Sweden, Denmark and Germany.

The page files the game as a Video Slot under the theme Ancient Civilization. Catalogues give January 2019, plain 2019 or instead, and we use the studio's date because the page is the studio's. A volatility rating appears on none of these surfaces.

You can also check the cast yourself. The studio's page describes it as running "from Anubis to Osiris". It never names Rich Wilde or links to the Book of Dead slot; its one nod is a line of story, "now the Book of Dead has been opened the king has escaped".

One Game, Several Builds

Play'n GO ships Legacy of Dead in more than one version, and the market setting at launch decides which one loads. Its licences page names 24 jurisdictions. The free demo on the studio's own page loads the version with no market set: no account, a play balance of 25,000.00 and an 18+ prompt. That build keeps every speed control on, Hyper Spin and Fast Play included, and its Auto Play runs up to 100 spins with each stop limit at 0.00.

The versions for Great Britain, Sweden, Denmark and Germany drop Hyper Spin and Fast Play, and the British and German ones switch Auto Play off. Germany's goes furthest. It prints "RTP 96.58%" above the reels, caps the bet at 5.00, holds each round to at least 5 seconds and caps a round at 25,000 times the total bet. We describe those builds as the server sent them, and we make no claim about why each one differs.

What Play'n GO Leaves Unpublished

Play'n GO publishes no volatility and no hit rate for Legacy of Dead anywhere we read. Catalogues call the game high-volatility, and one says it's "rated by Play'n GO 10 out of 10" with no source we could find. A tracker site reports a community hit rate, which is its own measurement rather than the studio's.

The studio says its games are certified by accredited labs "including GLI, BMM, and Quinel". We didn't look for a certificate for this title, so we claim neither that one exists nor that it's missing.

We do not recommend quoting a catalogue's volatility label as if it were Play'n GO's. For this game there's no studio figure to quote. Our own demo run, 153.00 back from 205.00 over 205 spins, is far too short to stand in for one.
