Legacy of Dead RTP
The return to player of Legacy of Dead is the share of all stakes the slot is built to pay back over a very long run: 96.58% on the one figure Play'n GO prints, so the house keeps 3.42%. The studio publishes no volatility rating, so the percentage says nothing about how bumpy a session feels.
- Game:
- Legacy of Dead (a Play'n GO video slot)
- Type:
- Slot game
- RTP as published:
- 96.58%, printed only in some versions of the rules: those the studio serves for Great Britain, Sweden, Denmark and Germany.
- Max win:
- 250,000 coins, which is how the paytable itself prints the ceiling: "WIN UP TO 250000 COINS!".
Where Play'n GO Prints 96.58%
Play'n GO prints 96.58% in the rules its server sends for certain markets, and the German build repeats it on a strip above the reels. The line reads: "The average RTP is 96.58%. The RTP is achieved through participation." We downloaded the rules for several market settings on and searched each file for a percentage.

Which Rules Print an RTP Figure
| Rules served for | RTP line present | What the file says instead |
|---|---|---|
| Sweden | Yes, 96.58% | "The average RTP is 96.58%." |
| Denmark | Yes, 96.58% | The same sentence |
| Great Britain | Yes, 96.58% | The same sentence |
| Germany | Yes, 96.58% | The same sentence, plus "RTP 96.58%" above the reels |
| No market set | No figure | Hyper Spin and Fast Play instructions |
| Studio game page | No figure | Release date, theme and the 250000-coin ceiling |
Read on ; a source can change after that date without notice.
So the free demo on Play'n GO's own page, which any visitor gets, loads the version that drops the number. The build served for Germany goes further than its rules. A strip above its reels reads "RTP 96.58%" for the whole session, next to "Max win Probability: 1:371747". The version with no market set, on the same game from the same studio, prints neither. What decides it is the market setting the game is launched with; we did not test whether a visitor's location changes that setting.
The demo server adds a wrinkle. Its first message to the client carries the tag RTP Value="96", a configuration label. It never says 96.58%, and we don't read it as a percentage or as proof of which setting the demo runs.
Four Lower RTP Settings in Catalogues
Two catalogues, bigwinboard and slotcatalog, list four settings below the printed figure: 94.51%, 91.51%, 87.56% and 84.55%. Bigwinboard's saved page prints all four. Slotcatalog blocked our download, and the summary we could read lists the same four, so treat that second source as second-hand. Play'n GO's own surfaces that we read neither confirm the lower settings nor rule them out, since those surfaces print one figure or none.
The gap is easy to price. The house share is 100% minus the return, so each step down keeps more of every stake over the long run.
Catalogue Settings and the House Share
| Setting | Who prints it | House share | Average shortfall, 1,000 spins at 1.00 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 96.58% | Play'n GO rules (SE, DK, GB, DE) | 3.42% | 34.20 |
| 94.51% | Catalogues only | 5.49% | 54.90 |
| 91.51% | Catalogues only | 8.49% | 84.90 |
| 87.56% | Catalogues only | 12.44% | 124.40 |
| 84.55% | Catalogues only | 15.45% | 154.50 |
Read the bottom row against the top one. On the lowest catalogue setting the house would keep 15.45%, more than four times the 3.42% on the printed figure. The demo build gives a reader no screen on which to tell the two apart. We do not recommend reading 96.58% as the return of every build, because the one version that drops it is exactly the one the free demo shows.
What a 96.58% RTP Means at 1.00
A 96.58% return to player means the game is built to keep 3.42 of every 100.00 staked, averaged over an enormous number of spins, with no promise about any single session. At a 1.00 bet that is 0.0342 a spin. Over 1,000 spins the average shortfall comes to 34.20, though real results scatter widely on both sides of it.

Volatility, the other half of the picture, stays unpublished. Play'n GO prints no volatility rating on its game page, in the rules for any market or in the client configuration. Catalogues call the game high-volatility, which is their reading. Hit rate is missing too: one tracker site reports 22.5% from its community's spins, and that figure belongs to the tracker.
The Gamble feature leaves the percentage alone, and the rules say so in as many words: "Gamble feature will not impact the overall RTP." A 50% chance to double and a 25% chance to quadruple both average out at even money. Gambling a win widens the swings without moving the long-run figure.
Why Our 205 Spins Prove Nothing
Our session returned 74.6%, far below 96.58%, and that gap tells you nothing about the game. On we played 205 paid spins at 1.00 in Play'n GO's demo, over five launches that each opened on 25,000.00. We staked 205.00 and collected 153.00.

| Measure | Our demo session | At 96.58% on the same stake |
|---|---|---|
| Paid spins | 205 | 205 |
| Staked | 205.00 | 205.00 |
| Returned | 153.00 | About 198.00 |
| Return | 74.6% | 96.58% |
| Free-spins rounds | 2 | No fixed number |
Two free-spins rounds, both with Anubis as the expanding symbol, paid 53.00 and 20.50. That means 73.50 of our 153.00 came from two events. Take away the first one and the session's percentage drops by about 26 points.
Honestly, that is the normal shape of a few hundred spins on a slot like this one. A handful of feature rounds decide the result, and a long-run percentage needs vastly more spins than any session to show itself. Our test illustrates the client and its rules, played in a free demo with play money, and nothing beyond that.
