Legacy of Dead Max Win: 250,000 Coins, or 5,000x a Full Bet
In short: Legacy of Dead's max win is 250,000 coins, the ceiling Play'n GO's paytable prints. On a full ten-line, five-coin bet that works out at 5,000 times the stake, a multiplier the studio itself never prints.
You can work the ceiling out yourself from two screens. The paytable prints 250,000 coins and the full bet costs 50 coins, so dividing one by the other gives the 5,000x that five of the six catalogues we read quote.

250,000 Coins: The Printed Max Win
Legacy of Dead's printed ceiling is 250,000 coins, and the paytable states it in capitals on its first page: "WIN UP TO 250000 COINS!" Play'n GO's game page repeats the coin figure, promising "the potential to win up to 250000 coins". Neither surface gives a multiple of the bet.
The multiplier most catalogues quote, 5,000x, is theirs, not the studio's. They have it right, as the next section shows. What matters is its origin: arithmetic on a coin figure, done by someone other than the studio.
How the Win Becomes 5,000x
A full bet is 50 coins, and 250,000 divided by 50 is 5,000. That is the whole calculation. The full bet uses all ten lines with five coins on each, so 10 × 5 = 50 coins, and the demo's default coin value of 0.02 makes that 1.00.

The top line prize is 5,000 coins per coin on the line, for five tombs or five crowned figures holding a crook. Fill all ten lines with that prize at five coins each and the screen pays 5,000 × 5 × 10. The sum lands exactly on 250,000.
Here is the part a bare 5,000x hides. The 5,000x multiple holds at every bet size, because a full screen pays 5,000 coins per coin on every active line and the bet is simply coins times lines. The coin figure moves instead. On one line with one coin, the same full screen pays 5,000 coins.
Max Win at Four Stakes
| Lines, coins, coin value | Total bet | Coins staked | Ceiling in coins | Ceiling in money |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 line, 1 coin, 0.01 | 0.01 | 1 | 5,000 | 50.00 |
| 10 lines, 5 coins, 0.02 | 1.00 | 50 | 250,000 | 5,000.00 |
| 10 lines, 5 coins, 0.20 | 10.00 | 50 | 250,000 | 50,000.00 |
| 10 lines, 5 coins, 2.00 | 100.00 | 50 | 250,000 | 500,000.00 |

Play'n GO prints no money ceiling anywhere we looked. Every sum in the right-hand column is our arithmetic on the paytable and the bet settings, from the demo's 0.01 minimum to its 100.00 maximum.
What a Full-Screen Win Needs
One way to a 250,000-coin result is a single screen on which all fifteen positions pay as the top symbol. The free spins are the mechanism built to fill whole reels. It is our worked example, not a studio rule. The rules add every free-spin win to the round's total, and the version with no market set never says whether that total stops at 250,000 coins. Three or more tombs start eight free spins and draw one regular symbol at random as the special expanding symbol. When enough of it lands, it grows to fill its reels and pays on every line, gaps allowed, left to right from any reel.

Suppose the draw picks the crowned figure and that symbol lands on all five reels. The expansion then covers the grid, every one of the ten lines carries five crowned figures, and each line pays 5,000 coins per coin. The tomb can never be the expanding symbol, since the rules leave the scatter out of the draw. The base game could in theory line up the same screen unaided; the expanding symbol is simply the feature designed to fill whole reels.
Our own rounds show how partial this usually is. On free spin 4 of 8 in our first feature, Anubis covered reels one and three with a different reel between them, and the game server logged 250 coins for that spin, 25 on each of the ten lines. A full Anubis screen would have paid 80,000.
Full-Screen Pay by Symbol, 50-coin Bet
| Expanding symbol | Five on a line, per coin | Full screen, coins | Multiple of the bet |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crowned figure with a crook | 5,000 | 250,000 | 5,000x |
| Anubis | 1,600 | 80,000 | 1,600x |
| Golden mask or winged scarab | 600 | 30,000 | 600x |
| A or K | 120 | 6,000 | 120x |
| Q, J or 10 | 80 | 4,000 | 80x |
Read it as a ladder. Of the nine possible draws, only the crowned figure fills one screen worth the advertised ceiling, and the rules with no market set publish no odds for that draw or for the five full reels that must follow it. One catalogue prints a max-win probability of 3.75E-07, roughly one in 2.7 million; we found no studio source behind it. The German build's 1:371747, covered below, belongs to a different cap and does not carry over.
Gamble Stops at 2,500 Coins
The Gamble feature cannot carry a win toward the ceiling. The rules with no market set cap it at 2,500 coins, as do those for Britain, Sweden and Denmark. The German rules allow up to five gambles in a row and name no coin limit. After a base-game win the client offers Gamble or Collect. A player guesses a face-down card's colour at a 50% chance to double, or its suit at a 25% chance to quadruple, up to five times in a row.

At the default 0.02 coin, 2,500 coins is 50.00, or 50 times a 1.00 bet. Take the 25-coin line win in our frame. Three correct suit guesses would lift it to 100, then 400, then 1,600 coins, and a fourth would run into the 2,500-coin limit. The chance of three suit guesses in a row is one in 64.
Gamble is switched off during Auto Play, and the rules say it does not change the overall RTP.
Our Session Against the Ceiling
Our best result in 205 paid spins was 53x the bet, about one percent of the way to 5,000x. On we played Play'n GO's demo at 1.00 a spin across five launches. The first free-spins round drew Anubis and closed on 2,650 coins, which is 53.00. The second drew Anubis again and paid 1,025 coins, or 20.50. The best base-game round paid 12.00.

Overall we staked 205.00 and got 153.00 back, 74.6% of the stake. The full log sits in the data table at the foot of this page. A run this short is an illustration only: it measures neither the long-run return nor the odds of the top prize, and we never saw a full screen.
The German Build's Max Win Cap
The build Play'n GO serves for Germany is the only version we read that caps a round in multiples of the bet. Its rules say: "Any combination of wins resulting from a single game cycle, including the results of any possible triggered features, is capped at a maximum of 25000 times total bet." The next line gives "Probability of hitting the maximum win: 1:371747", and the same odds sit on a strip above the reels all session.

Its paytable tells a different story. The page reads "WIN UP TO 250000!", with no unit, and adds "The maximum win depends on the bet/line used for bet staked". We keep the two apart on purpose. The rules cap a round against the total bet; the screen prints a bare number tied to the bet per line, and neither text converts one into the other.
The stake works differently there as well. It is set as a bet per line and a number of lines, with MAX BET 5.00, and the client drops lines on its own to keep a raised bet inside that limit. By our arithmetic, 25,000 times a 5.00 bet would be 125,000.00. Play'n GO prints that sum nowhere.
Where 5,000x Misleads
The headline number is honest arithmetic and a poor guide to a session, for three reasons. First, the paytable prints coins rather than a multiplier, so every "5,000x" in circulation is somebody's sum; the one multiple the studio does print, 25,000 times the total bet, caps the German build. Second, the version the demo loads publishes no odds of reaching the top, and nothing we read gives the game's volatility or hit rate. Third, a single full screen pays 250,000 coins only on a 50-coin bet of ten lines at five coins. With fewer lines or coins the coin ceiling shrinks, while the multiple stays put.

There is no shortcut either. Legacy of Dead has no bonus buy, so the expanding symbol arrives only through three tombs landing in play.
Our Reading of the Legacy of Dead Max Win
We think 5,000x deserves less attention than it gets. The figure is real, and on our worked route it depends on one particular symbol out of nine possible draws, and the studio does not say how often that happens. We do not recommend treating 5,000x as a target for any session, and certainly not as a reason to play for money.
